Skolnick in Sabotage? That's like Michael Jordan playing ping pong!!

Savatage kicks ass... or at least they used to do (dont really like their newer CDs)... And by the way, Skolnick was only in Savatage for a short period (appearing on Handfull of Rain only)... I think he still tours with Trans Sibirian Orchestra though....

Just love everybody. Stop fighting.

Savatage has always had flashier guitars than Testies, but I wouldn't dare say either is better than the other. All I have to say is: RIP Criss Oliva.

What band is Skolnick in now, besides his jazz projects? <-- rhetorical question since original poster apparently is 6-8 years behind on current events.

He was in the 'Tage for one album and subsequent tour, and is part of TSO East Company.

I bet your bands better than Savatage, lets hear what you got, then we can review it??????????????????????????????
I did'nt think sooooooooooooooooooooooooo..................

I don't have a band and yes, I like what I do better than I like Savatage. Does that make me better? Who cares. I prefer to listen to what I play over them, so to me, yes I am. You're free to think whatever you want.

Then why bring up long old news about Alex playing in SAVATAGE
years ago & talking low of him for doing what he likes, at the time.
I don't get your point, it's way out dated, & needlass to post as a topic. So you don't like to listen to SAVATAGE, thats your choice,
but don't talk crap about our friend Alex & his musical choices he makes......................................

Ok

Talk about being moronic. This thread reminds me of that stinking pile of shit post about Metallica. If you are so against Savatage, and I quote "B) I misspelled it because that's how little I care. My ignorance is by choice. I hear crap, I tune it out. I tuned out Savatage." Why even post about them if you don't like them. DUH

I agree... this thread is rather stupid...

I could care less about Savatage, or a lot of other bands, but if Alex wants to play for them or whatever, and HE'S happy, that's great. More power to him.

Makes me think I should check them out to see if I can appreciate it... if not, then that's okay too.

Alex played with Savatage?! Cool! Which songs/what album? I'd really like to check that out!

Savatage is a really cool band, and I can see how Alex's virtuoso-style would fit right in... I hope he sticks with it!

1) Alex appeared for a few leads here and there on Savatage's "Handful of Rain" album. He was in the band for the subsequent tour, and THAT'S IT. Although he's credited as being in the band and is in the band photo in the CD liner, the majority of the music was played by band leader Jon Oliva (who is NOT in the band photos, but really owns the band anyway).

2) HOR was released in 1994. The tour was in '94. Alex hasn't been in the band since.

3) Alex is involved with Trans-Siberian Orchestra and has toured with them around Christmas time in the East Company. However, it sounds like a few people around here could give three shits less about TSO since it isn't even remotely black/doom/death/dark/red/purple/green metal..... :)
