hi guys got this slate snare and it's awesome!

the drums are DKFH superior with replaced kick and snare

guitars: esp viper with TS-9, and Wagner plugin
bass: warwick with ts-9 and amplitube svx

some eq on master and a little bit of limiters\clippers

added slinky's picolo snare sample... now the snare is louder.. hehe

Everything sounds cool man... i would just turn that snare up or fatten it up a bit, it's kind of weak compared to the rest of the mix i.m.h.o.
 
nice ! drums could be louder though especially the snare, the bass is to loud also probably the loudest thing in the mix on my speakers anyways.
but definetly something good going there, finish the song though !!
erm guess being you used guitar hacks impulses with the wagner yeah ?
maybe just me and my taste in tone but the guitars were kinda too bright not enough mids.
god damn wish i could afford the slate samples maybe get my mom to buy me them for christmas haha :saint:

anyways it sounds really good just needs some tweaking

probably a very daft question or not !
i usually use my peavey 5150 then into the impulses
i tried the wagner sharp vst (doesnt work with logic 5.5)
so i couldnt test it out
how does it compare to the 5150 with impulses
cause ur tone sounds real crips and nice i want to compare
the 2 but cant argh.
now obviously the 5150 would expected to be better but stranger things have happend
 
do you have any reamp box? or di?

i think we could do a quick test...

if you have a DI you can record something and i'll go it through the plugin... but remember - this is what i got with TS-9. any amp sounds better with this little thingie)
 
right i dont finish work for another 4 hours
but i can upload 2 samples for you to test

ill upload

1.signal direct from the 5150
2.Direct signal from my guitar (for you to put into the wagner)

both clips without the impulse ofcourse !

could you match the eqs aswell so i can hear the difference in tone/quality when matched with the same eq or without and ill match them up myself.

ill upload these to my esnips folder later.

and post 5150 settings... to match the amp settings (any cpu eq is bad for matchinhg the tone)

channel 1 (crunch)
gain 9
low 8
mid 4
high 7.5

im in scotland so its 1:21 here at the moment
i can upload the test at 5:15 ish

yeah eq matching wise i was meaning
i use curve eq and ive got my own eq curve i like to use
with the peavey and krank impulse i use
but its something i could add to the clips after u
test them anyways so its all good.

anyways ill post a reply here around the time i mentioned with a link to the
clips ill upload them as 2 seperate .wav files.
ha if this wagner beats the peavey ill go nuts cause i just got the thing and think its the shit !
plus big problem wagner doesnt work in logic 5.5 so id might have to look into changing platforms just to use the wagner aghhhhhhhh

ive been using logic 5.5 since the beginning of time i know it inside out
the hassle of changing platforms would be so much hassle especially just to use 1 plug in that doesnt work in logic

i dont think that Wagner sounds better - it sounds the same, i mean like the real amp...
Besides the sound differs coz Wagner is maded by Bogner scheme...

while making the test i found that Wagner has a little bit more gain than 5150 on crunch channel
and it's free) so i dont know what to say... i didnt thought that it's so goood

mayby to post this test on the Equipment forum?
 
me and my friend r going to do a test today he runs on nuendo hopefully wagner will work on this and we r going to try and compare it with different settings on the peavey (the lead channel roar) haha
