I think that you guys know that slayer took a Grammy for best metal song.
And when i first understood i swear,i was like this: :OMG:
i couldnt believe it.I was disappointed,terrified, shocked:erk::erk::erk:
My fav. band with such a commercial...award o_O
And that story awake so much questions in me about Slayers future and the new album.So whats your opinion,how you see this ??

This changes nothing, Slayer never wrote music to please the Grammy audience and they never will. The Grammy people know nothing about metal, they nominated Jethro Tull one year and they beat Metallica. Im looking forward to the new Slayer album, especially that Hanneman is writing lots this time around.

Not a major surprise at all.

Metallica won a grammy in 1989 for Best Metal Performance for 'One'
1990, same award for their cover of 'Stone Cold Crazy'
1991, same award for the black album.

They've won 4 more since then.

Back in 1989/1990/1991, that was almost unheard of...and it was a shock then too. But it's nothing to be sneezed at....it's recognition for the work that a band has done.

And fair play to Slayer - even though they did win it a year ago. :D

Slayer were the favourites going into the awards, so it's not a surprise at all. They won it last year and I'm sure most of the people on the Grammy board sat down with their ballots and went "King Diamond. Is that Neil's brother? Machine Head. Wasn't that a Deep Purple album? Shadows Fall? As I Lay Dying? Slayer...heard of them, tick."
