my mom was telling me that she took my little sister to a service at the lutheran church down the street from our house and that it was great. now, whatever make her feel better, gives her peace, etc, that's great, im glad she can do it. but for the past 5 yrs she's been telling my brother and i - when one of us swears in front of her or plays music she doesnt like - that we're horrible, disrespectful people and that we wouldn't have turned out that way if she'd taken us to church when we were little. now, one a family friend of ours who is a year or two older than me is known for binge-drinking and sleeping around. one of my friends who knows her mentioned this around my mom and she freaked out because she holds this girl in such a high regard because - surprise - she's a devout church-going christian.

I was branded as evil through out my child hood by my father (not my mom). Because of music choice, and hobby choice it would seem. Yet my brother was always getting into some kind of trouble. He could do no wrong in their eyes. Funny thing, what was evil was how I was treated on a regular basis. That doesn't even mention the denial that he is in for ever treating me badly. Of course I think one of the things that made him crazy was religion.
