Slayer - Piece by Piece cover

Hi Ermin,

Love sound of your productions. Each prducer has its own tone so you have that "Ermin-One" as well :)
Good job as always. Kreator cover sounds great too.
I'm a huge fan of old school thrash so it was pleasure to listening it. Drums and bass sound bloody nice - would you be so kind and tell in short what was a mixing and mastering proces. What amp has been used on guitars? Sounds like 6505 or even closed to 5150. What outboard gear have you used on drums mix. OH are amazing. Drums are 100% real or what has been triggered?
Once again - great job and more songs please :)

Hey, thanks for the kind words.

From memory the guys used a Les Paul loaded with an Aftermath into my custom TS, a 5150III 50-watt and recto oversize cab with V30. We experimented for a whole day with various setups and landed with this in the end. I was pushing for the JVM and to ditch the Bareknuckles, so fingers crossed we go down that route for the album.

There's nothing particularly outlandish about the mixing process, so if there's anything specific you want to know, it might be easier than re-writing the entire mixing guide here again, haha. The kit is largely natural, but not entirely. The kick is 100% sampled, snare is about 80% natural, and toms are 100% natural. I tried to key a lot of the room mics off the snare as well in order to get more mid wash on the hits.

Cheers again for listening. The band should have other songs from the EP up on the YouTube as well, in case you're interested.
