Slayer to release live performance of complete Reign in Blood

Well, I'm sure the result will be awesome, but... they've just released a good live DVD (with Bostaph). So what's the point in releasing another one with Lombardo so early after the reunion? $$$$, right.
I almost forgot the recent (expensive) boxset too...

Well, that's what it mostly get to when you're a famous band. I don't really care if they put up good stuff, and stay loyal to their fans. Don't forget bands like Priest, Motorhead, Maiden .....etc , well ALL famous bands for a fact come to a point were they do this. It's a bussiness you know :erk:

Look at Maiden: Rock In Rio CD and DVD, Edward The Great, Eddie's Archive, Visions Of The Beast in a period of what.. 2 years? Talk about trying to cash in!

He's wearing a cool shirt on that pic, but I still say he can't play ;)

Ya know I am Slayer fan, but I actually say his counterpart Hannerman couldn't play a guitar solo if his life depended on it, but the two together on with their riffs and rythm are great. I don't like the disharmonic sound and King does a little of that, but I don't know if Jeff even "knows" how to play in key.

I remember an old issue of Hard Rock Magazine when the interviewer made a blind test for Yngwee Malmsteen. At one point he made Yngwee listen to some Slayer leads and poor Yngwee was absolutely disgusted, he started moving around screaming ahah

Anyway, their leads are terrible but I think that help giving this feeling of chaos required for their music.

I agree with you Fang on the chaos thing. What they lack for in leads they make up in their riffs/rhythm. After all to me Tony Iommi's solo's suck big time but he was the riff master. Anyways I'm definetly getting this one for one reason mainly. I saw Slayer back in 1990 with Biohazard and White Zombie in Bayshore Long Island's Sundance club. Unfortunately i got very drunk that night that i barely remember seeing Slayer so getting this could give me flashbacks instead of black outs lol ... :tickled:

Yeah, I have no idea how to play guitar or anything but I don't like their guitar sound at all, couldn't really explain why but you helped me out a bit ;)

Hanneman/King dont really know scales/modes well if at all so they tend to play very chromatically and hope for the best they are hitting the right notes lol but in all fairness in some songs it does work i think. Especially on the Reign in Blood album to a certain extent. And i dont know about you guys but i think Abryl is cool and probably cute ... ;) .. as for her not liking Slayer.. nobody's perfect lol ... :tickled:

I don't tuen down the volume for the solos. King isn't very good, but he isn't horrible, but often times Hannerman just makes whammy bar noises. Yeah it does "fit" Slayert so I am not particularly bothered by it. Yngwie just wouldn't "fit" in Slayer, but at the same time, Hannerman could improve his solos and I think it would help the band. To their credit, they are laser precise at their rythms though so it's not all bad.

I caught them last year at Wacken open air, when they did all songs from reign in blood.
Never thought that Slayer would do it so I was pretty happy.

I have always disliked the solos, but hey....fast and furious the Slayer way!
