Los Angeles metal band, Slizard, are streaming the first three tracks from their sophomore album, Wicked Tales, released today, May 5, via Mega Metal Records. Listen below.
Slizard signed a worldwide deal with Mega Metal Records to release their debut album in 2021, which was well received by fans, and critics alike.
The band was formed in 2019, and features L.A. singer Liz Fawcett on vocals, Pat “Buzz” Belrose on guitars, bass & vocals, and Todd “Toad” Resmen on drums. Slizard recently recruited bassist Don Torpy to perform on Wicked Tales.
This album is split between Liz Fawcett singing lead vocals on eight songs, with Pat “Buzz” Belrose singing the lead on four tracks. Pat “Buzz” Belrose recorded two albums with Canadian metal band, Jade, in the mid-80s, and has played with various metal bands in the L.A. music scene. Wicked Tales is also more commercial and diverse than their debut album, featuring more hard rock ballads and folk metal.
The album is produced & mixed by Chris Wood, a 3-time Grammy Award nominated L.A. producer and mix engineer. Chris Wood has worked with a variety of artists in multiple music genres, but in the rock world most notably with Slash, Lenny Kravitz, Vivian Campbell, Joel Hoekstra, Jeff Scott Soto.
All the lyrics for Slizard are penned by American poet Randall Dwight.
Wicked Tales album cover art is designed by well-known Finnish artist, Jan Yrlund, of Darkgrove Studios, Tampere, FI, as well as for their debut album.
