ok so I just a 500ish Ohm resistor to the one I opened.
Did a quick recording comparing stock to modded. Same position, as close as possible for a lazy fuck like me.
Sounds like a different mic position. Different, better? not sure. Takes a bit more gain than stock, nearly the max the preamp has with the amp at low apartment levels.
I also discovered you can't just plug a guitar cable from the output of a PF2626 to my amp (worked fine with the 002r) Noisy but not the sort of noise I'd think you could avoid by using balanced cables or reamp box. It's a bit like plugging a laptop into a PA system, digital roaches crawling around or something.
