smashing pumpkins

I think they're alright. Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie are both great. The electronic bullshit that came after these two I'm not too fond of.

still bitter?

im entitled to post about whatever i want, considering all my posts (topics or replies) are music related, and 90% of the time Nevermore related.
dude, I just showed how pathetic this kind of response is, thx for confirming the idiocy of this attitude.

Siamese Dream is their crowning achievement, imo. It was a perfect fusion of that massive droning guitar akin to My Bloody Valentine fused with 90's alt. rock. Corgan's vocals really took a decline after that, into a whiny mess. Mellon Collie was a worthwhile effort, but I felt it lacked the cohesion and provident impact of Siamese Dream.

The guitar tone is incredible, it doesn't really get better than that.

Gish is a great one too, vastly overlooked. Again there is a huge focus on the guitar, and boy does it rock, but you can tell they're still finding their sound.

calm down
It has always amused me when people tell other people to calm down when they are already perfectly calmed.

edit: last of my post in this thread, since I don't really give a damn about Smashing pumkings and this little feud doesn't interest anyone

Well, here I go being the "old guy" again.....

Back in the early 90's, no true metalhead would ever dare listen to these homos. But, I do like their version of "Landslide" quite a bit.

Smashing Pumpkins = chick rock.

EArly 90's when i was a little kid listening to alternative music, my dad bought me 2 of their CDs and I thought they sucked then too. I dont know why he bought them for me... i guess he liked them.

it's true, I never listened to any of those bands, Alice in Chains, etc.. but hey guess what, one day I dropped that mentality and found out in the big picture, metal fuckin' sucks, so why limit myself.
