SnareDrum alá Bullet for A valentine

Hi,

Im wondering if you guys can help me to get that smack effect alá Bullet for a valentine on the snare drum.
I've been struggling for some time now and im not fully satisfied with what i've accomplished with the snare drum .

Can I suggest that we use DFHS and Rcomp. on the snare.
IF you can please post picture/sound example and the snare of youre choice
Would appreciate it big time

I like Pearl 3, but I need to play around a bit more, as I've been wanting a bit more ring to my snare.

That said, for the smack, try lowering the threshold a fair bit, use a 16-20ms attack setting, and a low ratio setting. That'll give it the front end smack. Then, try boosting around 200hz on the snare, and it'll have a bit more weight to it.
