So, AMON AMARTH made this happen...

This is one of the greatest tributes any band could receive! Not only is Three Floyd's Brewing one of finest micros in the US, but to bestow the metal vikings with one of their tasty porters is legendary. This is so fucking METAL!!! \m/

It's a good beer, but as I said when they first tapped it here at their show in Chicago, it doesn't seem particularly "Amon Amarth"-y. I guess I don't know what style of beer most says "Viking" to me, but I don't think it's a porter. At previous shows I seem to recall Johan filling his alehorn with various light lagers, and when he was drinking this stuff onstage, it wasn't obvious whether he actually enjoyed it or not! So I just got the feeling that this was more something Amon Amarth attached their names to after it was created, not something that they truly helped develop.

I'm also not sure why this was suddenly a Blabbermouth story. As far as I can tell, this beer was a one-time brew, tapped in April, with limited bottles available at the Three Floyd's brewpub. I couldn't find anything on their website suggesting that they've re-started production or that it will be available anywhere.

That's a bummer to hear. I spent a little time yesterday researching online it's availability, etc. Was hoping someone could ship me some, but I too came up with not much on it...Thanks for the info that it was a one time brew.

Actually OP, Amon Amarth didn't make it happen, Three Floyds did and as Skyrefuge pointed out, it's really a limited time thing as far as I've heard from the Chicago Amon Amarth show.
