its not too bad actually. i miss their old vocalist but i really like Ripper Owens and its nice hearing him sing decent metal stuff other than that last piece of doody judas priest album.
i mean the only lyrics that really bother me are the 9-11 ones because to me they seem really awkward but i mean they are just singing about history which is nothing new to power metal.
i thought it was supposed to be all uber-patriotic and such but really they just did songs about different figures from history so it didn't really bother me.
I got my state income tax refund on saturday (only seven days after I telefiled it!!) and was tempted by the iced earth but settled instead for a new CD rack.
I was thinking this weekend about how unexcited I am at whatever Judas Priest puts out next.
i feel bummed about judas priest because their old drummer got put in prison for molesting a teenage boy at his house and this radio show this morning was talking about it like he was still their drummer and saying things like "first halford comes out of the closet and now this." and it made me really sad that they would say stupid shit like that. i mean the guy hasn't been their drummer for like 17 years!
oh my god so the gayification of multiple members of one of the genre's seminal bands reveals that METAL is rooted in the concept of THE COCK!!! who would've thunk?!?!
ok to bring this thread back around. even if you don't like their music, jon schaffer from iced earth is probably the most nastiest metal rhythm guitarist to come out in a long time. his fucking palm muting is so sick.
ps. i post this same message on a messageboard each time iced earth puts out a new album.
