...I'm not going to Russia in March. Indeed, there is something quite better. I'm going to be hitchhiking across all of Scandiniavia for 4-5 weeks from mid-March to mid-April. It's ambitious AND ultimate. Lots of metal and LOOOOOTS of fjords and beautiful nature. We'll be camping out most nights due to everything being expensive as hell, unless some people want to take us in for a night or two. So, who wants to get a visit? Tips? Comments?

Nope. The main goals are up through Germany into Denmark, Copenhagen to Malmö, and then get to the Norwegian Arctic either through Sweden or along the fjorded coastline. Oslo will be a stop as will probably Stockholm and perhaps even Finland, although Finland is definitely up in the air. We have plenty of time to do just about do anything. Gothenburg is also a likely stop.

I definately mean the Finns. Only place I've ever been and hated everybody. The only Finn I do like moved to Sweden because his happy nature clashed with the dullness of Finland.

So you would recommend against visiting Finland in order to spend more time in Sweden and Norway?

An ole Indian friend of mine told me if they catch you walking around drunk in Sweden at night in winter they throw you in jail until the morning so you dont freeze to death

I wanna go to Sweden and Norway

That's nice of them. Although, that would suck if perform any cavity searches.

But I didn't hear that stuff there is so expensive. I've seen these hotel/apartments there that go for like 50 bucks a night. Really nice places too, and you can stay there as long as you want. I was planning on moving to Sweden for a little while, but I didn't end up doing it yet (also because I never checked what real apartment market rates are, which I'm sure is much less than a Bed And Breakfast type of place).

Never been to Finland before. I hear it's a nice place, but I am afraid that half the people there will either be like Alexis Laiho or Ville Valo. I wouldn't be able to differentiate between the men and the women, which is not a problem I want to deal with in Scandinavia.

I'm thinking about moving to Norway in some years, so this is going to be a great little search for awesome, beautiful places to live. :)

$50 a night is going to be way over our budget spendings for a single day. We're only going to even stay places unless they're offered to us or if we're spending the night in a big city, which would mean getting a hostel for hopefully no more than $20.

I didn't even know hostels would charge that much. I always figured it would be like 10 bucks a night, considering they are usually not in the best condition, and offers absolutely no privacy.

I heard that during the winter, they have these bars in Scandinavia made out of ice.

it's on Passport To Europe soon.
