So Jasonic just realized something......

Driving to Nashville to see Maiden because my best friend lives there.
It's kind of a kill two birds with one stone situation since he wants to do Maiden as well.

I am trying to make it happen.

You keep forgetting that every penny you make goes to support yourself and Al.
Not the case for me.

I know there may be many guys and gals in the same boat as I who find a way to swing it and that's great.

As I said I am trying. If you wanna slam it by calling "BS" then so be it.

Do you go to every metal show even locally? No. So how can you even remotely slam me for not having attended an out of town Fest????

Bite me you two!!!! I know where you both live.......

You are the ones putting me on the defensive.
Why do I need to explain why I don't go to a show????

As I said, there are MANY MANY MANY shows I could say the same for locally that others don't go to.
I certainly don't make anyone feel bad about it.

I mean Joan - Are you going to Ragnarokkr both days? My guess is not because you probably aren't into more than a band or two.
Well, same holds true for me an PP - Each year there are maybe 2 bands I really want to see.

My interest in PP has always been more about the experience of checking out a well run fest than the bands anyhow.

Since I will be close, I am trying to make it happen......

Joan - If I go, I am sleeping in between you and Al!!! GET READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason, at least I can say I bought Gold Badges once (The year of the All-Star Jam). So, at least buy the tix, then talk.

Hey, Jason,

I meant to poke some light-hearted fun at you over your Nashville trip on the phone yesterday. That space between Joan and myself is always open for you, hot stuff! I get to be the biggest spoon, though.

Just to defend Joan on the Ragnarokkr issue, she would totally go if she didn't work twelve-hour shifts all weekend long. The only vacation time she gets from her current job pretty much gets used up for ProgPower. The only nights that she can conceivably go to shows in the local area are between Tuesday and Thursday. That kills her chances of seeing local shows right off the bat. She very rarely gets to come out to see me perform these days!

That said, you can totally make this happen for both nights of the main festival. You'll have enough friends there already to split hotel costs, and if you're already driving to the halfway point, your gas money will easily cost less than a plane ticket from Chicago. Actually, you might even be able to get a cheap flight from Nashville and have me pick you up at the airport. Standard cab fares apply, of course.

Stay metal. Never rust.
Albert

You know I'm just giving you shit, man. I understand why you haven't.

I missed this the first time...

Ok, then right back at you guys on this.....
I mean, Joan can say work is a valid reason for not going to shows.
Certainly fair enough. I agree 100%

My question though is why then is my decision to sometimes choose my own family as a reason for not traveling out of town for shows NOT a good enough reason for some (not saying you guys, but in general) why I haven't come to PP????

As I said, it's not a matter of being defensive.
It just seems that people always think THEIR reasons for NOT going to a show are valid, while others are not......

Aww, I'm sorry Jason, I didn't realize you were such a delicate, sensitive flower and can't handle being given crap online. I'll restrict my ribbing to in-person, where you actually understand that's what's happening. :P

I can handle it just fine.............
Re-read my post above....
Simply put, Al was very quick to come to YOUR defense in NOT coming to shows. Just asking why that's a valid reason for you, but my reasons for not going to every show aren't valid for me?

Furthermore, I would say I actually go to more shows than you guys anyhow so there!!!! :loco:
