So Slayer wins a Metal Grammy.....what are ure thoughts

From the Wikipedia article on Jethro Tull:
(Jethro Tull) won the 1989 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, beating the favourite Metallica and their ...And Justice For All album. The award was particularly controversial as many did not consider Jethro Tull hard rock, much less heavy metal.
I heard that Ian Anderson (Tull's band leader) said afterwards: "The only thing we have in common with heavy metal is that we play the mandolins quite loud." So, this time at least they actually picked a metal band for the metal category.

I think the Grammy is just much more about commercial success than about skill, artistry, innovation or stuff like that. That's a perfectly valid approach but just not what I am bothered about.

It only took them what... 25 years?... to recognise metal as a 'valid' form of music in any real capacity.
The Grammy's still are, and will always be, a load of shit.

They did St. Anger by Metallica in 2004. As the BEST metal performance of the year. Yeah, the grammys are a joke.
