So Wanda, your other gigs?

She's got some HUGE stuff going on...she's working on an exceedingly difficult piece...Beetoveen's 9th I believe....and has to learn around 8 or so other classical pieces very soon....so we're trying not to pressure to her learn another 8 Maiden songs this month... he he he he...just four or so....
:o)

Apparently the South Coast Symphony has a gig on the 7th of February (not close enough to the 15th unfortunately), so unless Field of Vision has a gig coming up around then, I don't think I will be able to see SCC/FOV and the Maidens at that time, not to mention Hangar 18...

Maybe things will come together later in the year (I'll be watching...)

Hey Toasty,
Glad you checked out the South Coast Symphony website. Anyhow, as far as other gigs are concerned, I really try to be discerning for this bulletin board and only post the gigs that I feel people would enjoy most. As you know, I get freelance work which can be pretty wierd stuff sometimes. I'm not, for example, going to plug a gig where I'm playing with a little makeshift 3 piece ensemble in front of a Dunkin' Donuts. Also, some of the groups I play with aren't so great (hey..it's still work though :) ). I played Strauss' Death and Transfiguration not too long ago with an orchestra (whose name I won't mention) and boy did it suck. We were horrible - the piece may as well have just been called "Death" after we were through with it. That would be another type of gig I wouldn't advertise. In addition, the ladies are kind enough to indulge me by allowing me to plug a gig here and there and I don't want to take advantage of that. This isn't, after all, the "Wanda" website. However, you can bet I'll be sure to post if anything really cool comes up. In fact, I just did.
:)

Thanks for the heads up Wanda!

Of course I don't expect the Maidens to post every last little detail about their other projects. But this forum is a community, and us peeps like to cheer you gals on!!!

I've suggested before that the the Maidens' merchandise table should have some of your other stuff handy as well (Phantom Blue, Field Of Vision, whatever...) - not necessarily all on display, but easily accessable for the person running the table. You are all awesome musicians, and I'm sure your fans will definitely appreciate getting easier access to this material! I remember seeing Meniketti merchandise at the Y&T table at the Bone Bash earlier this year, and I've seen (and expect) other musicians do cross promotion in this way.

The Maidens are one of the best tribute bands out there, and you gals shouldn't be ashamed to capitalize on the Maidens PR machine (to a point of course...).

Much as I would really like to, I won't be able to make the SCS gig on the 7th... However, change is upon me, so who knows where I'll end up!
