So what?

It is good news. He won't be lingering around in appeals for 10 years like he would if the trial were held in the U.S.A.

Does this mean we've finally won? Oh joy!!!

We won when we found the mighty Sodom in a hole in the ground. Unfortunately, we began to forfeit when wartime decisions started being made based on public opinion and media pressure.

Geez, some butch at Gitmo take a picture of an enemy pecker and suddenly our soldiers are criminals, allegedly...

Unfortunaley killing him isn't going to improve things...

Indeed...Saddam may by most accounts have certainly been a bad character, but surely no worse than Uncle Joe Stalin and we crawled into bed with him fast enough when it was politically expedient to do so. We should have cut some deals with Saddam from the get-go...helped his officially secular nation keep Iran(and various Muslim-theocratic entities)in check, spared our military this protracted-occupation misery while re-building their strength for genuine threats, and right about now gas should have been...oh, I dunno, 'bout $79. a gallon?!
Oh well, it didn't go that way, so I suppose he'll have to hang...I do hope it doesn't get even worse as a result - that's the main thing.

right now, what's making things worse in Iraq is the fact that the people arent rising up and taking control the way they should.
i dont think this is any sign of their dissatisfaction with the US. on the contrary, the larger population of Iraq was grateful to the US for ridding them of Hussein.
the ones having the hissy fit and causing the trouble [other than the outside Al Quaeda members coming in from Syria and Iran, looking for a chance to bag an American 'infidel'] are the Saddam-loyalists. although in the minority, those guys had it made with Hussein in power and now they're on a level playing field with everybody else and they dont like it.
that the people arent taking control like they should can be seen as a result of their having lived in fear and completely powerless for the last 30+ years. they were under Hussein's thumb and afraid of their own shadows, never knowing when or if Hussein's men would come to their homes and torture or kill them or their family members for some perceived insult to the man.

maybe seeing Hussein dead will give them the courage to finally take control of their nation and present a united front against those who seek to keep them down?

maybe.

What if numerous factions are going at each other. Mabe to many different groups are rising up and trying to take control. Kaos.

I agree but, I would still like to see him dead. We should pay-per-view the hanging and give the proceeds to the military persons over there now.

Knock yourself out. I wouldn't shell out any money for that.
Even if the proceeds went to military families...Not that I'm against captitol punishment, I just wouldn't get off on watching it...

It would be the satisfaction of watching a man die who deserves to die. I don't think I would get off on it. Even if S.H. had nice tits and they hanged him topless.
