So where the hell is the new Hammers? Everything else is just bunk at this point.

No more drummer. But isn't the album complete?

Is "Trot out the Dead" possibly the greatest '05 song out there right now? Sclazi has never sounded better, but the addition of the new female contingent raises the roof. Janis who? (Yeah, I couldn't avoid the myspace link any longer....I need me some new Misfortune so I'll take "Trot..." thankyouverymuch).

Nothing on their website. Nothing on Cruz del Sur. Nothing on Aqaurius Records. There better be something on the horizon 'cos I was all but expecting the new record like yesterday.

More whining can follow en masse....

shit was a crack up, reminded me of the glory days when all you cared about was putting MORE SKULLS AND MORE FLAMES on an album cover, and it was still fun instead of lame.

haha awesome.

yeah, 2005 is pretty bunk for metal. other than meshuggah i can't really think of anything standout. and even with non-metal, i still only have like a top 4 this year.

scalzi and that Slough Feg gig we went to ... there is stil a sour taste in my mouth after that. :(

i think you should see them again, maybe they had a bad night.

well, i haven't seen slough feg but i have seen hammers and scalzi was the fucking MAN i tell you what. such emotion, conviction, determination, and a sense of humoUr all at once.

holy shit dude i just realized something:

your interview with scalzi caused a rift between him and cobbett and now this album will be tangled up in legal bullshit between two underground giants FOREVER.

No way...The Locust Years is! I've also starting to lose patience with the lack of any definite information on this and the new Katatonia. And besides the eagle, the last thing I'd think of in that cover is Slayer...way too much color.

I'll third that motion - but I'll definitely still check out the studio stuff.

Gotta say, these responses are getting a little scripted at this point. :tickled: Really though, you should just get over it.

I don't think I've ever been put off by a band after a single 'less than stellar' live performance. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a phenomenal band play like shit. Everyone is entitled to an off-night.

Agreed - seriously. Like I said, it won't demotivate my desire to listen to their albums, nor catch their show again if people are up for hanging out during it. What it did do though, was deflate the high hopes I had for a memorable stage show, especially due to the travel factor involved in coming up from Philly for the set. As a result, I'll stick to seeing them local as long as people are there to hang out with.

Man, I listen to that Slough Feg debut all the time. It's turned into my "Seventh Son...." for 'easy listening', heh.

But really, I can't count the number of times I've seen a band I love play poorly. Look at Angra at the last ProgPower. Or Megadeth on every other show. I saw Radiohead perform on SNL a few years back and thought they sucked.

That has never, ever put me off the band or their CDs. Doesn't make sense.

The new Hammers songs are nothing short of stellar. If people don't like the new material then they obviously weren't really into the band to begin with. The fact is, they're not a huge departure from The August Engine (from what I've heard) and that can only be a good thing.
