so where's the official after party?

Here's my suggestions:

9 Lives Saloon

www.9livessaloon.com

The Masquerade

www.masq.com

The Chamber

www.chamberatlanta.com

The Riviera Club (open until sunrise)

www.therivieraclub.com

Buckhead Entertainment District

www.buckhead.org/bars

Last, but certainly not least

The Cheetah

www.thecheetah.com

I'll post more about what's going on at these clubs and other "happenings" coinciding with the festival as the event date draws nearer.

Anyone with other questions about Atlanta, please feel free to e-mail me at James69121@aol.com...

I'm assuming there has to be something open till the early hours so we don't have to rush off to the hotels after the gig....?

I know several people who are flying in from overseas to come to this concert - it would be a shame not to be able to hang out for a few (several) beers at the end of each night.

Riviera Club sounds promising..."open till sunrise"...heh.

9 Lives Saloon

Tue - Fri 4:00pm to 4:00am; Sat 12:00pm to 3:00am; Sun 12:00pm to 4:00am

The Masquerade

Wed - Sat from 9:00pm; closing times vary (typically open until 3:00am, at least that's been my experience)

The Chamber

Thu - Fri 10:00pm to 4:00am; Sat 10:00pm to 3:00am

The Cheetah

Mon - Fri 11:30am to 4:00am; Sat 1:00pm to 3:00am; closed Sun

Buckhead Entertainment District

Fridays expect anywhere from 2:00am to 4:00am, depending on the bar (there's many to choose from, so if one place starts to close at 2:00am, just walk next door, or across the street, etc.)

Saturdays expect anywhere from 2:00am to 3:00am

Weeknights I'm not really sure what to expect; I'll have more information as it becomes available...

I've always been fond of The chamber, but like most everything else, it closes at about 3, IIRC.

I hear there is a new gothy-type club in town (like The Chamber, minus the whips and chains), but do not yet know the name or how late they're open.

For those who want to check out stuff yourself, I suggest AccessAtlanta.com. It's a little hard to find stuff sometimes, but still a good bet. As for me, I reckon I'll be partying in whatever room number replaces "303" this year. :)

Greg,

My dear boy... such an abomination as no alcohol willl not occur under my watch, I guarantee. Have faith. You just make sure to bring your better half and we'll be -tay.

Although, I did have a nightmare last night that I drank so much I passed out and missed BG and PoS! :/

Shaye

You can rest assured that my better half will be there. And don't worry, if and when you pass out, we'll be sure to prop you up, right in front of the stage, before BG and PoS hit the stage.

Greg

Remember the kind Van driver well I will be utilizing his services for a big ass brew haul (if they allow it of course) becuase I got me one of the Apartments like 303 with my friends :D So as Dustin said Bear's Beer Garden will be rolling!!!

And if they don't allow it,well I am sure a Taxi O Brew haul will work to!!! LOL I can wait!!!!

That's a friend for you, I tell ya. You guys is da bestest!! :D
What kind of beer do you like?

Shaye

Ya know, I'm thinking I may just buy a bunch of stuff and then make everyone contribute to the "Shaye Bought us Beer" fund. I'm sure I will wind up at a party eventually, and being a local, I'll bet it'd be easier for me to transport alcoholic beverages than most of y'all.

That's it: I'm the official Beer Bitch for PP 3.0.

Sincerely, your BB,
Shaye

This might sound ludicrous but are the age limits at the bars in Atlanta 18 or 21? Id hate to go to my hotel room and sit around doing nothing after the show. Id rather party my ass off if given the choice or is just me?
:D

Ben

That's a good question; some allow entry by 18 and up, though most require 21+ to get in. I'll check around to find out who specifically will allow under 21 admission, and I'll post some options here for you as I gather the information...

The Riviera Club specifies that they are 18 and up "for concerts". Therefore, I am assuming if the entertainment for a particular evening begins with the letters "DJ", then it must be 21 and up on those nights (www.therivieraclub.com).

Assuming the Cotton Club recovers from the recent water damage, they are an 18 and up club (www.atlantaconcerts.com/cottonclub).

Beyond that, the only other place I've come across that allows 18 and up is the Echolounge (www.echostatic.com/echolounge).

I will remain on the lookout for clubs that are "under-21 friendly" and post the details as the festival draws nearer.
