***ACK!!** I'm so sorry.. I just realized taht there was already a thread for this... I'm so sorry.. since I can't delete this thread I guess I'll just leave it... Again I apologize for not putting this in the other thread. :hypno:

What are some of your thoughts so far on this tour?

I saw them in atlanta, a show that was pretty early on in the tour and I thought it was simply incredible.

Fate's was solid and surprising,

Dream Theater was freaking insane. These guys never cease to amaze me.. I've seen them 4 times now and each time has gotten better and better. Unreal

QR was OK... DT simply blew them off the stage though.. .it's sad that they have to play their older 'classic' stuff in order to get the crowd pumped and excited. But DT can play their recent stuff and still REALLY get the crowd going.

The performance only secured my opinion that DT is on the rise and QR is on the way down... a slow ride at that.

What have been your thoguhts?

 FW/DT/QR on Saturday, Porcupine Tree/Opeth next Thursday. I have to admit, going to the first show mainly for FW. Yeah, Disco Dave, I'd love to hear Still Remains, too! It's exciting to have some good live music coming around! Of course, the BEST is not quite on the calender yet, is it guys?! At least for the US...hmm...come October, I may be in need of a week's vacation in Germany...It's as hard to get Enchant off my mind as it is to get their cds outta my player, not that I'm complaining!

Again, not trying to ruffle any feathers, but IMHO, DT is a bit self-indulgent....and they really aren't breaking any new ground in the genre... :erk:

i lost interest in the band shortly after the release of FII, don't get me wrong, i somehow tried forcing myself to appreciate their stuff thereafter with each release including their latest one but still no spark, grant it they are all very talented musicians but their songwriting/composing talents have somewhat dwindled into oblivion, isntead i would love to see them drop the concept trend for now and produce just plain songs and see if they have enough substance to hold, a case in point is the first song appearing on the second Cd of 6DOIT that seems to convey the message as though the band is being crowned/kighted/rewarded for their heroism, for what? i don't know :loco: just my opinion he he, go figure...

Heh...I'm having the same problem getting Enchant out of my cd player. I have to, though, because I don't want to get burned out on it....*grumble*.

You gotta let me know your opinion on Fates Warning...I'm still sorta hoping that they'll spring Still Remains in on some of the shows...Disconnected is the only album I've heard from them that I really, really enjoy and it seems they're not really playing anything from it. *sigh*

When I saw them, they played One and Pieces Of Me...
Ooh...at least that's something. I thought I saw somewhere that they were only playing "Disconnected Pt 1" from that album, but that song doesn't count.

I enjoy both One and Pieces of Me, but being the clueless optimist, I'm still hoping they'll spring Still Remains on just for me.

Hey I was there at the Atlanta show.Lovely wether that day eh?
Anyway DT was in top form I have never heard them sound better
Fates was really good also. I never really was a QR fan, I saw them
back on the Mindcrime tour they were better back then
cheers:cool:

Caught the tour at the Concord Pavilion last week. Fates played: Disconnected Pt.1, One, Pieces of Me, SHUTdown (from OSI w/MP on drums), Point of View, Monument, APSOG pt.3, but not in that order, and I may have missed one...

They were strong as usual. Last time I saw Fates was with Enchant in Fremont a long time ago...Good show as well, considering the venue...
