Soldano HotMod

Just picked up a JMP 2203 for a stellar price! Sounds amazing with my Recto Cab! I am very interested in the Hot mod after hearing yourr clip and seeing this -

Sweet!, which do you prefare? Any major sound difference? And would you mind posting a pic of the DIY Hot Mod sometime please?

Isn't it just this: http://www.mo-toyz.com/shm/

Kind of off topic but is there an amp that can do the sound of clip "Drop D -- 2204HMdd" on that site, and on a second channel has a Fender Blackface style clean? That is my dream amp, ultra-gain Marshall distortion and Fender Blackface cleans.

Fender Super Sonic. Not even kidding.

I've been GASing for a Super Sonic since playing one earlier in the year.

These videos demonstrate the two sides to the Super Sonic (he lists the amp as a Fender super Sonic in the video details).

Can someone tell us more info (or show pics) about the DIY hotmod?

Just do exactly what you said, DIY it.

It's just a tube with 3 sections instead of 2 like a 12ax7.

In all honesty if you are going to take the time to build a similar adapter, you may as well just drill a hole in the chassis and put another tube in there. And if you don't know anything about doing that, you shouldn't be building a Hotmod type adapter anyway.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but does anyone know if this schematic uses the proper valued components for the hotmod? I was going to try and DIY it but read here that some of the values may be off
Thanks

Thanks, i'm going to build it next weekend once I get the parts. Did you have any issues grounding it? I read some people soldered a line to the chassis to make sure it grounds and dosent cut in and out. If this works well think I'm going to take the diode clipping out of my JCM800 2210.

Do you remember if you used 1/2watt or 1watt resistor's, and what brand resistor and caps? Ive been informed that this may not work in my JCM 800 2210 because it doesn't have a cathode follower in the later version. I pulled
V2 and was still able to use the boost channel so apparently this is the newer design. Ive already got some of the parts ordered so figure i'll still give it a shot, dont think it will hurt anything.
