yeah the old X88 was great, I tested it just once and I was blown away!
It was all motorized so you can recall via midi (if I'm not wrong) your presets, but besides the motors it had had a full analog path!
Your tone Proggm rocks a lot! fat and thick

EDIT: Did you use a Mesa cab?

yes, it will.

for a bit more gain you just have to change the value of one resistor, but that's easily done

it sounds really cool man,i was searching for a good preamp these days,i found yours,the x99 and the cae +3se but i decided for the engl e570 se...i hope it sounds cool also! i will be matching it with the VHT 2902 though,and also the mesa cab
