[Graveless Soul]

I think lovers of Opeth (which we all are on here) will love a band called SOLSTICE. Has anyone heard of them?

I've had their "New Dark Age" album a while now and always thought it was pretty amazing. But I've recently rediscovered it in a whole new light and it's even better than I remember it!!

Their from the UK and I reckon everyone here should check them out. I'm not sure how easily availble it is though ...

I LOVE their music. Finally, heavy doom that's not boring.

I just hate how he rolls all his "r"s -- why the HELL does he do that????? Argh! But I'm trying to listen to it and just block that out. Huh, kinda like I did with Opeth's growls at first. So maybe I'll wind up walking around rolling my r's too (since I now love the growls).

i'm just bumping this up, because i can't recommend this band enough to opeth fans. music that you'll actually want to pay attention to. and to see if anyone else has heard of them who might have missed this the first time.

Anyways, have I now found the right band?
It said on mp3.com that they were from the UK,
so I'm guessing this is the one?

The vocals didn't quite do it for me,
but they sound interesting!

I'm just discovering them myself, so I'm not an expert. But I LOVE the album New Dark Age. It's amazing. The songs are 10 minutes long in the vein of another of our favorite bands , so hearing just a clip doesn't really give you a good idea.

aside from all the "r" rolling, i really like his voice. usually male metal singers have that cheesy viking '80s vibe. or the doom singers spend all their time whispering. his is just a solid, on-key singing voice. but voices are definitely subjective.

Yeah that's the one your looking for, althought there don't appear to be any "New Dark Age" songs on there.

By the way, nice one Lina for showing some support for me on this one - nobody else seems interested! Still, they don't know what they're missing . I can't recommend this band for Opeth fans enough....
