I don't know what is in the water here, but there has been a friggin lot of good bands coming out of Quebec during the last years. I thought of presenting to you 5 bands that are not known as I think they should be.

First, Archons:

If I remember correctly, Oz from here reamped the guitars for their album and St-Amand produced the album.

Secondly, Augury:

Again, the album was produced by St-Amand. It was mastered by James Murphy. They are excellent musicians, look at the drum cam of one of their songs :

Third, Unexpect:

They're touring on the progressive nation right now with Opetn and Dream theater. Their music is really original.

Fourth, Kalter:

The production sucks, but they're recording their first album this summer and it will have a really better production. I think they have great potential, and again they are really good musicians, especially considering their age.

Finally, I know they're a lot more known than the other bands in my thread, but I still think they're not enough known :heh: . Here's Quo Vadis:

Bart, one of their guitarist(the one with the orange guitar) and main composer, is on the forum here too. Their last album, Defiant Imagination, had Steve Digorgio on bass.

Hope you'll like them :kickass:

Blackguard imo!

They were amazing live at Summer Slaughter, and I'm seeing them again in two weeks. I also noticed the keyboard player mentioned the Sneap forums in the credits/thanks of their album.

I didn't know Archons, really cool stuff. Being from Québec too, I'm always happy to see our metal scene has good recognition and reputation worldwide.

I'm actually happy there's no more girl operatic singing in Augury, what I heard of newer material (Skyless) was insane.

edit : couldn't NOT post this [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sSgGpdVlAQ&fmt=18[/ame]

I actually think the opposite way. I found the new album quite generic compared to their debut album. The female vocals where really awesome, in my opinion.
