Well you can flame me... But only if you help me!!! :tickled:

I downloaded quicktime earlier like a geigh fucking emo. (In order to listen to Stille Volk audio samples.) Next thing I know quicktime takes it upon itself to make itself my default browser. In a furious rage I scampered to delete this parasitical faggoth file. But winamp never took back the throne of my mp3 kingdom. So now whenever I attempt to sample an mp3 , it says "can not read quicktime exe. file" or some cockameenie bullshit as such. Where do I go to default my winamp? I checked the options on firefox and winamp?!?!?! Somebody help me. I'm fucking suicidal over this!!!! :D

haha!

You should've uninstalled Quicktime instead of just deleting it. Right click an mp3, go to Open With... choose Winamp, check the box saying Use This All The Fucking Time (or whatever), then okay. Should be done.

you click the button in winamp that says "register file types" or some such

but winamp is teh devil so you lose either way

right click on any mp3 file and choose OPEN WITH (if this option does not come up ... click SHIFT and right click at the same time)

once this happens, click CHOOSE PROGRAMS ... clicl on Winamp and check off "Always use the selected program for these type of files"

that should do it.

I don't know what apple is trying to pull. I deleted this fucking thing 10 times. It wont delete!!! It's still in the add/removes program section of the control panel. All my mp3s file are defaulted for winamp aswell. I deleted my cookies, my cache, everything. This is like i'm living a horror movie!!!!!

Yep, Here's the deal. It wont let me delete files called "quicktime authorizing"

I even switched my default media player in the control panel to windows media. To no avail. Oh man, this experience is about as bad as being 7 yrs old with Michael Jackson as your baby sitter!

why exactly do you want to remove quicktime ... it hapily coexists on my PC with all the other players ... besides you need it for the trailers :D

Because it is acting as a symbiotic life form. It's taking over the right to be my default media player when not asked to do so. Lurch, help me be strong during this crisis.
