Somebody MUST have heard of Magnitude 9 ???

Marre79

Metal,& only Metal
That's one hell of a band !!! New album is coming "soon" if i'm not mistaken it' will arrive early 2004 !!! (DAMN I can't wait for that one) I'll love the previous two albums : Chaos To Control 1998 (i think) & Reality In Focus 2000 !!! Reality In Focus was little better in my oppinion...

SUPPORT METAL(heads) !!!!!!!

Magnitude 9 although makes great music, is suffered by horrible production. Reality in focus has such a bad mix, it made it unlistenable to me. All high ends, no freakin low end, or UMPH as I call it. Thats too bad.

Heres the info on the upcoming CD btw..

Magnitude 9 report that the band are currently recording their new CD called Decoding The Soul. Some song titles include ‘New Dimension’, Reflections’ and ‘Lies With The Truth’. Johnson says that “the CD is still prog metal, yet more mature, more hooks, more melodic and to the point. There’s not any really songs on this CD.” The record is due out later this year through InsideOut in the US, Canada and Europe, and through Avalon/Marquee in Japan.

Thanks for the info! Gotta get that one for sure!!!

There's not any real songs? :err: Oh well, I'm sure it will rule, I love this band. The poor production on Reality in Focus couldn't even come close to ruining the cd for me. Do they's guys ever tour???

I was just listening to "Reality in Focus" yesterday. I think the first 4 songs rule... but the rest is pretty boring.
No way! Quiet Desperation and Mind Over Fear rule! I think that tracks 5-8 are subpar, especially compared to the rest of the cd, but the last two songs are great.

I've been a Rage fan for years, all through their various style and member changes. I think that you're right that the lyrics to "Down" aren't the best, but I also don't think that those lyrics are very representative of most of their stuff.
Rage is actually one of my favorite bands. (For reference, my others are Symphony X, of course, Angra, Blind Guardian--stuff like that with melody, power, and technical skill.) Releases up through "End of All Days" and "Black in Mind" are essentially melodic power metal (what used to be called "power metal" anyway--not like HammerFall and all that), then they get more progressive for a while, then a bit more straight ahead on "Unity."

i was just listening to the sample that progpowerusa put on their site. I think it shows the importance of the harmony between vocals, instruments, and lyrics to make a successful song. The song 'down' was an absolute joke, but if u say the rest are worth checking out i wont make my decision about the band until i hear some more (if my ears, not to mention my intelligence, can take it after that song)
