Someone had to do it.

Agreed. I know they are big enough to do whatever they want.
Can applaud it to a degree but they forget that they are abandoning the sound that got them famous world wide in the first place.

exactly they don't want to be that band that lives in the past. Sadly they need to realize like you said what got them there. I mean I guess no one wants to hear Run To The Hills part 2 or a Return of the Powerslave. But I think they lost the ability to write catchy songs now.

It's one thing stretching out and doing things a little bit different. However, they do it to a level where it almost seems they're purposely TRYING to piss off their fans.

If that's the case then they've succeeded with me. I've been pissed off with them for 15 years. Even the Virtual 11 times were better. That was a bad album but at least at the shows you had a decent selection of songs played live.

Somebody needs to explain to them that they are a band with 50-60 legitimately classic Metal songs (lowball figure)...and yet they decide to beat to death a smaller figure of only 25-30 max, of which there are quite a few THAT NEVER NEED TO BE PLAYED AGAIN.

I really am curious though as to what their new setlist will be. Suffice to say that if you're going...I hope you really like the new stuff, as that's probably going to be 90% of what you hear.

Judging by how their tours have been, yes it will be mostly new. They keep switching off tours of mostly new and then classics. Whenever they do a new album, it's mostly new. I'll be honest too that I wouldn't be shocked if they play all or most of the new album either.

Mild personal adjustment.

Sadly, I wouldn't be shocked either. As was mentioned earlier, it's like they do this shit as a rib on the general public to piss people off and see who keeps showing up to pay to see songs they're not interested in hearing live.

I could see them doing the full album live this time around.

Yeah, and it's a double album. I didn't do the math on the song times but it's probably at least 90 minutes, so it'll be that, 'Fear Of The Dark', 'The Number Of The Beast', and 'Iron Maiden'. If not those last three, then just interchange three others that have been played regularly for the last 25-30 years.

As far as the 'classic' bands go, I'd rather see Metallica in 2015 playing 'ReLoad' in it's entirety with a 30 minute Lars Ulrich drum solo than this far-fallen once great band.

Fuck you Iron Maiden.

My roommates swear that Brave New World and A Matter of Life and Death are good albums. I'm sure there are some good tracks on there, but I can't say I'd ever want to listen to an album with only a few good songs. I don't even think I've heard much Iron Maiden post-Seventh Son. Can't say I care either.

I actually love "A Matter of Life and Death" though I know most don't. "Brave New World" seems to be the album that people love of their new era. I just think it's ok, but it does have some great songs.

well being the metal veteran that you are this means a lot.

:Spin:

I quite liked AMOLAD and enjoyed seeing the album live. Still wish Blaze lasted longer though and Arry hired someone to produce the mid 90s output. TXF was their best since Powerslave.
