edit: REDONE LIST

well basically it came to crunch time today and i started my assingment properly and realised that I bough an AD-DA converter instead of an audio interface *facepalm*
anyway I've been looking around and honestly its taking forever,
this is what im looking for
High end (2000-4000£)
must have at least 6 outputs to support 5.1 surround sound
atleast 4 XLR ins and Midi I-O
compatible with both protools and cubase and able to work on a PC
this interface is NOT for recording (apart from synths for composition)

What does your room look like? Have you thought about loudspeaker placement and acoustic treatment?

East west Symphonic plat, LASS and EW Hollywood strings. Stormdrum 2/pro as well... that will cover the film score sounds. Wait, don't forget Symphonic choirs and the expansions.

You could go apeshit and get a few crazy expensive midi controllers like Jordan Rudess.. a couple of those would use your budget up.

Like this http://www.eigenlabs.com/alpha/

Don't forget external samplers and synths as well...
And lots of rack gear like eq's, compressors, distressors, etc if you were to mix externally and so on.

Why not throw in Waves Mercury while you're at it?
Also add some UAD and URS plugins and perhaps an SSL duende.

coke.
beer.
prostitutes.

actually - i couldn't think of anything that wasn't already mentioned, but i love spending other peoples money, so figured, you can never have too much weed, coke, beer and hookers.
