why the are you guys linking to Cradle of Filth? It twists and warps my little mind to figure that one out.

I'm assuming that it must be your idea of a joke.

My point is that the link just seems so out of place on your website. Thats all.
I took a look at the links section, you're right. All these underground website banners and then one of the most popular death metal bands. JayKeeley? :tickled:

I can't even remember the last time I listened to Cradle of Filth, but I do really like Dusk... And Her Embrace. Cruelty and the Beast has cool music with shit vocals, and the rest I don't really enjoy anymore.

I guess Papa Josh can make that call. I think he knows the CoF PR guy or something...it doesn't really bother me.

That's an interesting comment. Can you elaborate on that? I ask sincerely because I want to get an idea of how people regard RC the webzine. Somebody once referred to RC as a 'death metal webzine', and General Zod has also mentioned in briefing that we 'stray from the norm' or something to that effect.

I guess I'm just curious because, if you ask me, RC is pretty mixed and varied with it being a reflection of the writers tastes. Still, it'd be interesting to hear other people's comments.

Just from what I've seen, (and mind you, I'm relatively new to all of this, so please, bear with any ignorance I may be showing here and let me apologize for it beforehand) I view RC as being on the cutting edge of the underground, with (as you said) a significant amount of variety thrown in due to the writers preferences and tastes. Basically, like a lot of great bands, the principle of genre naming and cornering with a label is difficult to apply to RC, and that's what makes it interesting, but to explain comment: I see RC as a very underground publication still, and having a banner for CoF amidst many other underground zines and bands in your links section threw me off, and I was wondering if you threw it in, sort of in an Especially Likely Sloth fashion of complete insanity to make people go "WTF?".

So yeah. I hope that's what you were looking for.

That's really great feedback and extremely complimentary. Thank you. Seriously, if people don't voice their opinions, we'll never know if we're doing anything right or wrong.

Heh, good point. Honestly speaking, Papa Josh sent me the banner and asked me to host it. If I remember right, someone asked him to do so in an exchange, but I'll defer to PJ.

However, I wonder if your comment about us being underground would apply to the zine outside of the links section? For example, in our reviews or interviews, do you think King Diamond is too 'mainstream'? What about the Iron Maiden feature? I'm just curious because honestly, we know that a band like Maiden don't need the support, but at the same time, we can't deny our roots. :tickled:

By the way, the next feature is going to be very underground indeed. :)

hehe, yeah it is kinda "out of place", but it ain't my webzine. And yeah, I think there are some CoF fans here.

NicodemiX, thanks for the compliments. ;)

Faggoth is more appropriate, I would agree. Whatever, Dusk... And Her Embrace rules. :Spin:

I have all of Cradle's shit, and enjoy it all.

The banner was put up as requested by their pr guy at the time. It is a bit outdated, but aside from that, I can see no reason not to help the scene in whatever way we can. I don't care if their underground or above the ground. Metal is metal, pure and fucking simple.

their first 3 rule, pure and simple. cruelty is okay, but the production licks a sweaty sack and this polished (not polish) sort of stuff needs to have a thick rhythm section. also a bit overdrawn... midian and from the cradle to enslave have their share of good songs, bitter suites sucks to buy, damnation and a day... cum to think of it, i don't think i have listened to it since it came out.
