I got invited to speak on a panel on the topic of Swedish music that the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in putting on in SF this coming November. I'm not sure who else is gonna be up there with me, but it should be interesting I'd figure.
when I got moved over to the PC help desk and began to be an "out-nerd", I felt so liberated, I could practice my nerdness in the open without having to experience the feelings of shame I had being in the closet.
the guy from Export Music Sweden (a group that promotes SWE music internationally) told me about the event which was originally gonna happen last month, so I called the guy in charge back in March or so to find out more. I guess my reputation is strong enough that he felt I'd be a worthy panel member. Not to mention that I'm local, so no one would have to put me up or anything. And yeah, I'm kinda nervous. I have no idea how these things really work, nor do I know how formal it'll be. I'm not really worried though - I figure I can't really fuck it up that badly.
I assume someone will be filming it or something, as I figure that's the usual modus operundi for these things. at the very least I'll have my wife take pictars.
In regards to the title of this thread, its always good to be a nerd. At least, I've never had a bad nerdiness experience, even with girls, they find my capacity to know random trivia cute and endearing, also, it makes me "interesting to talk to."
Intelligence is pheromone that women cannot deny, due to their capacity to be quite garrulous.
