Lately I've been focusing on individual songs instead of full albums. When isolated, a track from the middle of a tech album that usually gets lost in the shuffle, becomes a stand out song in its own right. An example is some the middle tracks of Vektor - Terminal Redux. Many of them stand on their own. Tonight I've been messing with Pestilence Spheres. Listen to 1 track and then take a break, listen to something else.



I mean, especially the last minute or so of this is sheer brilliance. The shifting time signatures, the intentional dissonance, the wild horns, the build to the climax. Check it out.

This album is so fuckin weird, this song is the perfect example. This album is Believer's version of Spheres, just letting experimentation reign.



It almost sounds like he plays a riff and then jarringly starts playing the same riff backwards at times. I'll have to figure it out on guitar to be sure
