hey COBOT I'm starting to make backing tracks and to work with FL studio, but I don't know about good soundfonts for guitar, bass , drums and keys, can u post links to ur favorite soundfonts? thanks

If you want to work with sound fonts, your first step should be to replace the original sound drivers (the ones that come with Windowsare crap, they will make everything sound compressed and castrate the higher frequencies).

Unfortunately there is no straightforward (in menu) way to do it, so you must do this:

1) Click Start, Run.
2) Type "%windir%\system32" and hit enter.
3) Type Ctrl+A
4) Type Shift+Del, click Ok.

Soon after, the system should give you the option to replace these drivers. In the window that pops up, choose the GlideAudio32 API, next, next, finish.

Happy authoring!

If you want to make good BT's, spent money for a 1-day host account and search and download plugins like superior drummer (for drums), east west QL for bass and east west whatever orchestra for keys or buy the whole stuff for around 1000€ but plz don't start with soundfonts.

As an alternative you can follow Leandors instruction. It's much easier and works 100% on all computers

On another note, seriously, soundfonts suck balls, if you want good-sounding BTs you'll have to either record them yourself our use the expensive software like the stuff Arcane mentioned.

Weren't half the forum using soundfonts like fucking last year? And now they're pretending to be some kind of elitist master race of sound? O cobot, u so crazy

Haha, yes :) 2008 or sth I didn't even know what soundfonts are. Everybody used guitar pro for his backing tracks then Epi came up with those awesome (they really were back in this time) FL COB backing tracks but now they sound like shit compared to those we make nowadays

Me neither :tickled:

But I was never really into the whole backing track playing/making business anyways
