Spanish Metal

well there ARE many many good bands in Spain and thanxgod from many genres!!! Mago de oz and tierra santa seem to be the ones to outstand abroad, and sure Baron Rojo DID!!!
now keep in mind these names.....
oldies (in the baron rojo wave): muro, leño, asfalto, ñu, sangtrait, bellabestia, sangre azul, medina azhara
newers (heavy_powermetal): avalanch, dark moor, ankhara, lujuria, redwhine, azrhael, saratoga, easy rider, su ta gar
prog: overlife, phakner
aor: skyline, elite
death_dark: ASGAROTH, NAHEMAH, symawrath, bleeding sun, in thousand lakes...
hardcore_industrial: Soziedad alkoholica, Ktulu, Kop

I miss many but well a big bunch of them are listed here :)

IMHO my alltime fave band from Spain is Heroes del Silencio but they're not metal and split in 96
so I guess you see I'm quite into it ;)

I've listened a bit to Locomotive Music bands e.g. Mägo de Oz and Tierra Santa. It's ok. It was a bit wierd though the first time I listened to it =)
I guess I'll be listening to a lot more of it in the coming years as we got signed to the same label =D

FatherVic: you mentioned some great names... I have been really enjoying the Basque Metal band SU TA GAR a lot lately. Their album "Jaiotze Basatia" is killer !!

minDthEgaP: I will have to check into your band. Visiting the website in a few minutes.

 BARON ROJO !!

yep, there are some great bands in the basque country, but I don't like how euskera sounds like!!!!

@mindthegap: really????? you signed with Locomotive????????
well I hope then I can see you in Rock Machina, the Spanish biggest fest (organized by Locomotive) this summer :)
