What up homies :Smug:

I need something to bring my RP5s up to ear level. At the moment they're firing sound at my beer belly, and if I slouch a little, my nipples. I've thought about putting them on bricks or something to lift them up off the desk, but really it'd be nice if I could put them on floor stands behind it, so save me some flat surface space! I need it for putting empty beer bottles and CD cases on, y'know?

Anyhow, I can't find a tape measure right now, but it looks like they'd need to be about the same height/length as my RG550 :)

Does anyone know where I can get something for this without spending excessively?

Cheers y'all, and merry christmas!

That's what I did for a while. I had bar stools (with the foam pads) and stacked 2x4s under, until I reached ear level. There are adjustable height speaker stands at Musician's Friend. $60-$70 a pair. Can't go wrong with those and the Auralex pads. But the main idea is to form an equal length triangle to your ears, and to isolate them from causing (fake) reverberated, or resonated frequencies.:err: i.e. vibrations from the low freeks, and reflections of the high freeks.

Yeh I know about the triangle and stuff... it's just hard to find a stand that doesn't seem a rip-off (P.S. I'm UK, no mf here :-/) Bar stools sounds like a good idea though :D Most speaker stands I find for a sensible price are meant for hi-fi so are no higher than the desk, couch ear level I suppose!

Thanks for the tip!

I got a set of speaker stands from Argos a year ago which are ok, so long as you throw a couple of Auralex pads under them. £20 for the pair! I can't see them on the Argos website though....

The top of my monitors are probably 5 foot high when they're extended to the max. I stuck some spare wood panels on top of the stands to balance my Tannoy Actives and then used Auralex pads on top of those to get rid of any resonance from the stands and they do the trick nicely.
