i like to preview artists at Amazon.com before i think about buying a CD. being 15 years old, i can't afford to spend 15-20 dollars on a CD and then never listen to it after the first run-through, so if i can't sample them on amazon i'll try to download one or two songs on LimeWire...i rarely download whole or most of albums unless i bought the album on vinyl and don't want to play the vinyl or if the LP is hopelessly out of print...my friend let me have two out of print Atheist albums, and i fell in love with them and have full intentions of buying the re-releases that are coming out this year. however, i'm fully aware of labels and bands losing money because of the internet, but i don't see illegal filesharing slowing down anytime soon so bands need to find ways to add incentives to buying their albums (bonus DVDs...ECDs...etc).
