Only listening on laptop speakers the now but even so the cymbals sound MUCH better now.

Would be nice to get upgrade price info from Steven, I've got SSD EX, all the expansions, Trigger, FGX and VCC. No doubt there's quite a few guys on here that are in the same boat. Do us a good deal for the Slate loyals!

Hard to tell how good they sound by this video. I wish they had showed more the plugin GUI instead of the dudes slamming the kit. To be honest I´m very happy with Slate Platinum 3.5 for Kontakt. I won´t upgrade unless there´s something really unique or the price is a no-brainer.

While I do sense the Slate 3.5 cymbals not fitting that well in a mix nor tricking me to believe they're real, I don't really know what all of you guys refer when bashing slates cymbals, I know most of them are close micd (which in an actual recording environment almost never besides for the ride and perhaps hihat happens) but i can live with them, but apparently I'm missing something here cause every one on this forum seems to hate them. Could you please try to explain what a "good" cymbal sound is? and where is the lack in slate's samples?

Hmm the drums in that first video sounded like they are all in pretty much 1 velocity ;/ Will have to wait for some proper clips.

EEEEEEHHHHHHH!! just saw these! this is the drums going out a PA into an iphone voice recorder and its not even remotely representing the true beauty of the new kits. You can hear the hitting of the mesh heads too much as well.

The first guy on the kit was from Roland and he told us that he'd never played a virtual kit that has reacted and sounded so realistic.. We actually got that from quite a few people.. hopefully some of you came to the booth and heard it first hand and will chime in.

The new Soultone cymbals sounds amazing.
