St Anger chart - where is the justice in this world??

You know how sometimes you see people out wearing something that looks really bad on them or just looking terrible and you wonder if they bothered to look in the mirror before they left? After hearing St. Anger on the radio agian, I wonder if they even bothered to listen to it before they released it. :err:

I went and visited the Metallica board. THey were just gushing over the new album there. It cracks me up. It didn't seem very honest to me. Here, you have people who love the new THrax and some who don't and it's ok to discuss. Most of the messages there were very, very positive. i saw no scathing reviews of St. Anger at all. Come on, I have friends who won't even listen to the new album after hearing 3 or 4 songs. You can't tell me everyone on the board there loves it.

As for being number one--you knew they would be. First album in years from a hugely popular band with tons of radio play. The prior two weeks number ones were Marylin Manson and Led Zeppelin and Staind I believe.

You cant have looked at the Metallica forum very much. I've been posting there for years and I've posted a load of comments lately saying how bad St Anger is, and funny thing is I'd say about 40-50% of people there agree!
Go check it out now and you'll see topics suck as "Sounds like shit!WTF Bob Rock" and "St Shit. Better Title".
Metallica are just another Linkin Park-alike now, although St Anger does grow on you, I'd give it 6.5/10 now instead of 3/10 as I first thought.

 That's a good analogy.

As far as wondering why most of the reviews are POSTIVE on the Metallica board, why wouldn't they be? These are Metallica's *current* fans. I was once the biggest Metallica fan in the universe's history, but I have not visited the site in years now. It's pretty obvious to anyone with the slightest bit of common sense and historical knowlege (in music) that Metallica are followers now, not the leaders they once were. This is even more obvious to those of us who grew up listening to Kill'em All and Master of Puppets. You're likely to find the members posting this nonsensical postive review of St Wanker to be newer Metallica fans or old fans who have such a biased and programmed perspective of "Metallica" that they will simply convince themselves it is good regardless of the facts right in front of their faces. (That the band has been conforming, the exact opposite of their original purpose -- ever since producing with Bob Rock and getting rich off the Black Album, and that the lead guitar work which built the band has now been swallowed up by an ignorant trend called "nu-metal" which Metallica follows baaaa-ing like sheep with no end in sight. How sad that some old fans fall for this and buy the cd along with the new StainD or whatever other shit-metal passes for music these days. There's a lot more out there, but you have to look for it.)

All that being said, I checked this thread to see if the thread starter (or anyone else) has posted the most current sales totals for the Cd. Anyone know where the mark is at now? Last I heard was 700,000. I'm just curious, that's all.
