Star One - Victims of the Modern Age (teasers)

Entire album is fantastic. I've been listening non stop since yesterday and it is BRILLIANT! Damien Wilson is one of the best vocalists in the world. He totally rules this album.

How would you compare it to Ayreon's, "Flight of the Migrator," especially in terms of heaviness? FOM is my favorite Arjen disc. I like what I hear from the above samples.

Heaviest album that Arjen has done for sure. All his projects have a different feel to them, so I wouldn't compare this album to the Aryeon ones really. I mean, yeah, you can hear stylistic elements that tell you it's definitely something Arjen created, but I don't think they have the same feel. Plus, the Aryeon albums are going to be in that storyline/universe, where this one is just about different sci-fi themes.

While I generally like the album, the lyrics feel kind of forced to me. The music is great though. "Earth That Was" is probably my favorite, but I've only had a chance to listen to it once through.

haha, was just listening to the new STAR ONE and heard the sample from Planet Of The Apes. i sampled that movie, but not that clip, on our album from 2005. ;)

Is it a sample, or is it Russell Allen? In the making of video on the 2 disc set, they show him recording that part....

i will have to watch the making of video, if it is him that is a good Charleton Heston impression and Arjen then went out of his way them re-incorporate the background noises from the film, including original score. i will have to dig my DVD out and watch it again. i cannot remember if CH said it with more force and his used "breathy/timber" delivery.

I wonder if he used both? No autotune, at least! :muahaha:
