Star Wars Episode 2 teaser trailer pics

Dammit! You would have to get me all excited  Oh well......patience is a virtue. I have heard that the special effects in this one make the first movies ones look crap. Which means George must have actually gone and filmed on all the planets this time instead of computer generating them as thats the only way it could get better.

Shame they cant fix the CRAP acting in the first movie with computers.

The special effects were the main reason I didn't like the Phantom Menace - they looked far too artificial, so I knew that I was seeing CGI instead of being able to suspend my disbelief. Know what I mean? Felt like I was watching a live-action movie with cartoon bits in it, like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" and "Dot and the Kangaroo" (that's going back a bit now!).

I'm one of the few who probably isn't looking forward to Attack of the Clones, or whatever stupid title it is that Lucas gave it.

I thought the same thing about the CGI... In the first 3 (well, the middle 3... you know what I mean!), as "old-looking" as the effects were in there, the real models still gave it a better sense of realism than the computer generated stuff...

Thats a good point, the space battle in Return Of The Jedi is still the greatest battle ever put on film, and it looked much more "solid". Maybe they have upped the realism on these new effects for AOTC, I think it was just because 90 percent of ep1 had effects shots, there was too many and you couldnt help but notice.
Spiff: I agree so much there, attack of the clones is one of the dumbest names ive ever heard, it sounds like a b grade 50s movie........

Funny that... in the special edition version, a lot of the footage was composited CGI. In the first 3 movies, there was more human interaction with all the CGI that was happening. In Ep.1, there wasn't as much human interaction (except maybe for the droid armies interacting with the Trade Fed. aliens), and there was a huge emphasis on landscapes.

With Skywalker Ranch in his control, it's cheaper for Lucas to develop worlds virtually rather than going around looking for actual cinematography sites and locations. When on location, you need security, catering, insurance, onsite staff, portable cameras & lighting, etc. Develop the world virtually, and all the setting up can be done on a sound stage in front of a blue screen.

Vastly saving costs. It's just up to the actors to be competent with acting in front of a blue screen. Like, that whole lightsabre fight at the end of EP1 was completely blue screen. The fight between the Gungans and the Droid army was totally virtual (right down to the blades of grass and dirt being kicked up by hooves).

Amazing, this digital technology.

Yep, the thing now is, there are no limits for making movies anymore, it can all be done one way or another!
That gungans and droid army fight was amazing. Even better was when they were swimming into the gungans city, that was the most amazing thing ive seen on film, and it was only up for about 5 seconds.
But, the acting was TERRIBLE in episode one, I think its because they had trouble working against a blue screen, which doesnt make them very good actors seeing as all acting is is playing pretend really. They didnt seem to be comfortable working with virtually nothing in the way of sets and stuff.

I tend to agree...but what I think really let down the first film was the somewhat kiddie feature of it. I mean Lucas seemed to try to put in as many stupid little creatures and dumb little things that are meant to be funny and they just come across as being very childish.

Like when he redid A new hope with luke and the gang entering tatooine with those stupid robots saying nanananan and the other one thumping and so forth...and the dance scene in return of the jedi.

Those damn scenes dont belong in a star wars movie damn it!!!!!!!! And lets not forget jar jar binks!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody chewie wanna be poser!!!!!! DIE DIE!!!!!!!!! :)

And yeah spawny I agree with you..that scene in the first film when they are travelling through the ocean or core or whatever with the sea creatures is absolutely brilliant.
But I really have high hopes the next star wars will be better andthe thrid one should be even better :D

I agree about all the kiddie stuff, but you have to remember, when you saw the first star wars movie, you were a kid too! You have to look at it through those eyes, at first I was disappointed with the movie a bit, but then I remembered its all about escapism!

Plus I worked out a lot of stuff later on about why certain things happened in it and everything, its going to make a LOT more sense when he makes the next 2, you will be able to spot stuff in the first movies and go "Ohhhh so thats why that happened" and stuff like that!

JarJar didnt bother me all that much actually, yeah, he was annoying, but I didnt really care :)

Re: the special editions, they shouldnt ever have been done, the CGI stuff looks SO out of place next to the other effects in the movies......and that dance scene........god help us.

Have you heard what they're doing with the re-release of ET? Changing dialogue (where Cujo's mum says that one of the kids isn't dressing up as a terrorist for Halloween), digitally removing guns from the soldiers' hands, stuff like that - all because of the terrorist attacks. Not that it's really that important, but it's still silly - classic movies should not be tampered with!

star wars 1 was very disopointing
regarding the name of starwars 2
i remember in the first starwars movie they used to go on about the clone wars
