STARBREAKER

Great band...great album. I do remember reading a little while back that they weren't going to be doing anything else, even though original plans were for this to be an ongoing project, but I could be mistaken. Shame really, as it was a fantastic album.

The problem was, I got the impression from the interview that Tony Harnell barely even had any idea who his guitar player was, even after they made the album.

Not to give the impression Harnell is arrogant or anything. I've heard he's one of the nicest guys in the business. But he's part of that 80s scene and I'm not sure he's even aware of the current rock and metal scene.

Not sure but John Macaluso is going to be banging the drums with an upcoming Ryan Star show.

How weird... I just listened to this album for the first time on Sunday coming up from Southern California... great album, which is to be expected from Magnus Karlsson (same dude who did the Allen/Lande project).

Yeah, this is a really great album... perhaps now that Tony has left TNT there will be time for Starbreaker 2? <crosses fingers>

Surely Harnell is more aware of the current metal scene than that! If anything, TNT has played some big European festivals with some of these guys. Plus, the bassist from TNT plays on Jorn's studio discs doesn't he?

Anders Johannson is in Hammerfall, and in a metal-rules.com interview he showed total ignorance of the scene he was a part of.

Some guys are just punching a timeclock in this business. Especially the older guys.

Adaher, I don't think it's a lack of knowledge of the scene or anything like that. A lot of groups now are just exchanging their work via the web to create an album through ProTools. Harnell may be just saying that because someone at Frontiers hooked him up with Karlsson and Grossi, but who knows for sure.

I met him once on Long Island when he was rehearsing there between TNT albums and he's a pretty smart guy and seemed to be aware of the general metal scene.

And if anybody was looking for something on them try www.myspace.com/starbreaker
