...our 7 1/2 min long instrumental, named after the band. strong My Dying Bride and other doom influences, with thrash mixed in... coming soon. sadly, the bassdrums are inaudible. i cant wait till we get better recording methods. Ian really knows how to use those things

Looking forward to it!

Oh, yeah -- what are you using to record/mix/edit your recordings? Don't mean to be nosy, I'm just curious.

a shitty mic in the middle of the garage hooked up to a spiffy digital 12 track recorder... we need some more mics
Sounds like it. :)
Right now, I'm fighting with Cakewalk Pro Audio9... I've recorded all the guitar parts and am now composing (or attempting to compose) all the bass and drum lines via MIDI, but when you mix them down, they don't export. So, you know...

This whole recording this is for the birds. I'll just hum a lot and know it's cool inside my head.

hah, ya... doing that is a real pain. or, you can get a bass simulator and play it on your guitar
I could do that. I guess I could also take the already recorded guitar parts and just tune 'em down a few steps and go the "...And Justice" route. Oh, sorry...that was kinda harsh... I think what I'll do is when I get the bass and drums composed via MIDI, play it out to the four track and then sample it back in. The whole point with my trying this direction was so I could have some control over the tone of the drums and such... Why do I hear "The Human Factor" in the background??!? :)

thats a cool idea... hey, you can do some black metal. majority of Black drums are fake anyway lol
Do tell. :loco: I've got a friend who's a drummer in a local classic rock band and every time I play Dimmu or someone like that, he just shakes his head... Me, my feet can keep up most of the time, but my arms lose the rhythm and it just sounds like the drum kit vomited.

I've actually got a track that's in the vein of black metal, but I'm not sure I have the stomach (or the vocal chords) to do the vox...might just have to play with recording a "normal" singing voice and monkey with it in the editor...

I'm going to be recording one of my own songs soon in my friend's home studio. Hopefully it will turn out to be an epic, we are still tweaking the song structure. But it sounds, at least to me, like a mix of Evergrey and Opeth. But with worse musicianship :) Maybe alittle influence Dream Theater thrown in I guess... :( Sorry guys had to do it! But don't worry, the vox are like Haji's Kitchen's first CD! This may take awhile to get recorded as I'm hoping to use some strange stuff like a harp and some percussion.
