Greetings fellow metalheads,

Anyone ever played or recorded with a Steinberger spirit? I'm wondering about the neck profile, overall playability of the guitar, and tones it can put out. I work in Kuwait and don't have the opportunity at the moment to try one out. And I travel a lot so the size is very appealing...

I couldn't find anything via search here, but in general, I've read good things about them, and am pretty interested in these guitars!

Seems like the Steinbergers don't get much love around here...

But if anyone is interested, I did make the purchase (bought the standard with H-S-S config). I do sort of wish I bought the deluxe though, because the single in the neck is pretty weak.

All in all, very happy with the purchase. Could definitely use a pickup upgrade, but I am keeping it as is for now.

I made a recording with it and this is what it sounds like:

The old "real" ones are very nice! That company has been sold and bought like a million times though, so it's difficult to tell now which are the good ones (which era).

Steiny fan here. Are you talking about the ones like this:

or the square ones? I'd love to snag one of these GM style models. Which model did you get?

Yeah, that's an awesome guitar, but I was after the compactness of the Spirit... Put it in an overhead on an international flight no problems!

It's only ~9" at its widest point and about 31" long
