I've been listening to their second album No Anaesthesia! And besides and sorta lame thrash vocals, this shit is so badass. Roope Is a fucking monster. And the tone is so focused and crunchy. If you haven't heard a song by them, check out "sweet dreams" pretty slick.

I finally got to see them on their comeback tour a couple of years back, and I'm sad to say it was utterly horrible. I went to this festival solely because of Stone and Meshuggah and I ended up watching three songs of the Stone gig and went back to boozing. Major disappoinment.

If I can find it! It was a pain finding any stone albums. These riffs are so damn good! I'm still listening to it. You know roopes setup then? I'd imagine it's his Jackson through a gp1000.
They are probably all washed up old guys now.
I catched them at Ruisrock last summer, good stuff. Judging by the way the guitars sound I'm pretty sure they used lee jackson preamps back in the days.

Roope is of course in Children of Bodom (and was in Waltari during their best era), and Janne Joutsenniemi has his Suburban Tribe thingy, which used to be somewhat decent pop metal, but quickly turned into boring numetal. One of their songs was a small hit, and still gets radio play every once in a while:

it's so damn ridiculous how alexi ripped off roope. There's a solo on No Anaesthesia that alexi completely ripped off on hatebreeder and ftr multiplle times
