For me personally, when I buy a CD, it gets ripped to ITUNES instantly anyhow, and the CD goes to the shelf. Therefore, these days, if there is a less expensive option for MP3, esp for a non rare release or a band I collect, I will choose the download. It still supports the band and the music gets out there.

The majority of my music listening takes place in my car actually, which has made me embrace the digital format.

Yes, of course the physical format is cooler, but I am not new to liking metal and collecting records, CDs, and tapes. There are different types of customers for music.
