STONE

I'm pretty sure all or at least samples of each of the shows are on youtube. They only have three concerts on the dvd, which are all pretty pro-shots, then theres the extra section with a bundle of other songs that vary in quality.

I'd say pro shoot, as they're shot from behind the drums, from the front of the stage, from the air, from behind the crowd, etc... The vid quality is good and the audio, except for the fact that Janne used to play with a really not bass sound on his bass (IMO his tone sucks), is great too. They are definitely not filmed like that SNBN vid you have in your profile Mitch, it's not 2 or 3 cameras in front of the stage. The bonus material, although not great vid and audio quality, is fun, and the interviews are quite lulzy too. Besides, the Roope and Janne interview in 2007 seems cool to me too. The interview with Lars Ulrich pwns, the fucking dumb rockstar doesn't even know who is he talking to

Lars is an asshole, and I LOVE Janne's bass tone, so trebly and heavy and cuts right through. I always tried to mark my tone a bit after the "no anesthesia" album sound. Such great unique tone, pretty much all treble and mids, and not the Alexi kind. The whole Stone sound is a lot like Early Iron Maiden, everything isup nice and hi with lots of treble and presence so you can hear everything real well and it doesn't mask sloppy playing much like the whole mid scooped thing, which is probably why so many Metal guys use it, and totally drowning out all bass frequencies that the bass can be used for. Stone and Maiden had nice hi presence guitars, with nice trebly but VERY bass-y and heavy, bass sounds coming from their bass players, Let the BASS take care of the BASS, don't tune the guitars to the low A and have bass all the way up :zombie:. This is just my personal taste though.

The first two albums Stone and No Anesthesia are my favourite and colours does have some crazy technicalities and really shows they can play, but I just prefer the previous two, emotional playground does have some absolute awesome songs on it, but I think the 90's was getting the best of them on that album. If you like the bodom song "No Commands" that was a bonus on Hatebreeder, then get their debut album, Stone. No Anesthesia is which many fans consider it to be their best. I'd say it's still a tie between that and their debut: Stone. Also does ANYONE know why Jiri was fired from the band after No Anesthesia??

EDIT: You can listen to one song of each of their four albums here at their un-official myspace: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=87457399

I can't believe I never noticed this until today, until I finally read the lyrics to one of my favourite albums of all time. On No Anesthesia concerning maybe some racist lyrics?

I doubt the lyrics are seriously racist, but "light entertainment" is what i was referring to.

"The next artist is a my pals clown dressed in a monkey suit
Laughter is loud when he tells my pals jokes with his mouth full of banana"

I'd like to do more research on this subject myself, because I highly doubt Stone is racist at all. Still one of my favourite bands of all time, but I'm also highly against racism. I don't think they would write those lyrics to be purely racist tho. Still I'd like to know more.

I don't recall hearing anything about that. I quickly glanced through old Stone articles that are on Finnish Stone fan page but there was nothing about that either. Janne said about the lyrics in general that there are no deeper meanings and there are quite lot dark humor.
