Straight Outta Iowa...

4. Heidi Saperstein - meh (unless she's a friend of your's)
5. Mono - really lush and peaceful but I couldn't hear it very well - until it hits the cacaphonic orchestral part - me like!
6. ah, the much ballyhooed Mare - very churchy organ, some tobyish vocals...now we're rocking....
7. no
8. see #7
9. Red Eyed Legends - have I travelled to CBGB's?

All in all, listening to the Indieworkshop sampler is somewhat akin to surviving a series of train wrecks, or being degrouted by a less than compassionate nurse. Most of the lyrics are a caterwauling assault on the senses, somehow combining with the rudimentary musicianship to create a sum total entirely less than the sum of its parts.

Psych.

7 - Pseudosix - i love that track - it's such a great fucking album
8 - Make Believe - not for everyone, that's for sure. but i love that song as well

but, i'll agree with you about track 4. oddly, i get good feedback about that song... maybe it's the P.J. Harvey quality that get's some people.

I don't think it'll happen... or at least it won't happen until I do a total brainwash of her musical tastes (well its not that bad but it is pretty commercial.. and she listens to the same 3 songs over and over and over... until she's tired of them, the only people I know that are that obsessive are women for some reason. My sister in law used to tape the same song over and over again on both sides of a 90 minute tape and put it in her car to listen all the time...)
