Strange times with famous bands

Whats the most surreal thing you have done with someone famous?

For me,

After drinking for a couple of hours with sepultura's Derrick Green and sound engineer Nino Notaro, we ended up with our arms around each others shoulders singing the proclaimers 500 miles

In 2001, drinking backstage at a Napalm Death gig with Onedice singer Dave Malpass. The clubs bouncers pulled us all over and wanted to strip search us all because they thought all rock bands take cocaine.

anyone else got any weird stories to tell??

I shared a few bowls with Chris Barnes along with about 20 other fans after a show a few years back when Six Feet Under was in Minneapolis. Chris is very down to earth, and it was a very awesome experience. Not exactly a weird story, but it is one of the coolest things I've experienced.

Yeah, I was drunk at Rites of Darkness this last December and bumped into Scott Carroll of Cianide at the bar. Drunkenly, I exchanged words about how great his interview with Invisible Oranges was and how I loved his comment on the NWN forums about the drama behind Rites. I was standing behind in while Zemial was playing and he turned around and we had some more words, but I don't recall anything of the conversation (nor Zemial's set...)

at the first Gigantour, my buddy and I went to the meet and greet with Nevermore. My buddy is a bassist, so when he gets to Jim Sheppard, the bassist, my buddy says, "Oh hey Jim I'm a really big fan."

And then I don't know where he gets the idea, but somehow Jim ends up recording my buddy's voicemail message. They had to try it a few times for it to stay, but after that for a year and a half when you would call my buddy, you would hear Jim from Nevermore telling you what to do.

Afterwards, buddy and I go away and stand around waiting for the next band. Meet and greet ends, and Jim actually comes over and talks to us. He tells us about karaoke with Abbath who sang Tom Jones.

Fast forward a year, we saw Nevermore again. My buddy and I are in the front row and Jim sees us. He makes the telephone gesture to us, and we lose our shit and freak out that he remembered us.

tl;dr Friend had bassist from Nevermore record his voicemail message, and he regaled us with stories of Abbath singing Tom Jones, and he remembered us a year later

I was at a Vader/Augury show in Pittsburgh at a venue called The Ches Arena (ice skating rink turned concert hall - best venue ever) that my best friend knew the owner of. He let us go anywhere we wanted: backstage, out the back door where the bands entered the venue at, etc.

Anyways, as the night was ending and we were both pretty drunk, me and my friend stumbled to the back dressing room area and walked in on Vader mainman Piotr Wiwczarek banging one of the female fan's who was there. Vader's bus driver who saw us, came running back and grabbed us and said something along the lines of "you guys gotta get the fuck out of here!".

It was funny because I noticed this girl when she originally entered the venue several hours prior. Very pretty I suppose, dark black hair, scantily dressed, huge fake tits and wearing an extremely tight Vader "Necropolis album art" T-shirt. And I remember thinking to myself, I'll bet she's here to fuck somebody in the band, probably Piotr.

Also, got to chat and smoke with Mathieu Marcotte (Augury main guitarist) for like an hour or so. First time I ever smoked weed I think. He had a severe case of the munchies that entire night and kept asking everyone if they had more weed or food. Extremely friendly guy though.

At a Destroyer 666 show I asked the band about the time Keith Warslut had his nose generously spread across his face by a member of Blasphemy, they were a bit taken aback and said that it was because said dude from Blasphemy was a junky,I know that Warslut deserved it...just thought i'd remind them of it.
