Never really been any secret that Strato is Tolkki's band...that's a given...so you can't blame him for being protective of keeping and maintaining his "project" as he sees fit.

I figure either he's a real prick to "work for" no matter what he says...or the other guys are tired of being "hired guns" and want an equal band format with input, etc.

Or...it could be all about the mighty euro...?

If this would have happened six or seven years ago I would have been very disappointed (Fourth Dimension, Episode and Visions kick ass), but now I don´t give a flying fuck about them anymore because everything they have released lately is nothing more than mediocre. I am sure that even with the changes Stratovarius will continue to suck because Tolkki has hit the creativity wall many years ago and those 3 million Euros will only make him go even more comercial, simple, boring, and clichee than in the last four albums.

STRATOVARIUS guitarist Timo Tolkki has posted the following message at the band’s official website (www.stratovarius.com):



“After speaking with all the band members I am now traveling to Berlin to talk with the Sanctuary team about the future of Stratovarius.



At this point I cannot say more about the situation. I am very sorry if my statements have offended someone. I have been under heavy pressure lately and my therapist has prescribed me some heavy antidepressants. They make it even more difficult for me to control my temper.



I have received death threats, which has forced me to hire 2 bodyguards. They are both former military people with martial arts training. This is sad really, but what can you do?



Anyway, I apologize once more if I have offended anyone with my comments. I hope you understand what kind of pressure we all are living in at the moment.



I would like to say that things are not always what they seem. The music world can be very frustrating, largely due to legal and business matters. I hope I can tell you some news after returning from Berlin.”
