Stratovarius U.S. tour

Yea, that's true. Approximately 4% of Finns use Swedish as their primary language. Consequently, most Finns learn Swedish in school and damn near all the signs in Helsinki have both the Swedish and Finnish words on them. Makes for some seriously long street signs!

I'm actually really shocked that this is only their first US tour, for a band that's so popular and has been around for such a long time. Stratovarius and Finntroll would be great. I know both of them. Although I'd still need to get another album by Strato, I only have two. Timo Tolkki is an amazing guitarist.

Thanks. Sometimes, you just gotta laugh. ;)

No official comment otherwise as I keep my promises (unlike others). If something changes officially by tomorrow, you folks will know it.

May I be the first to offer you a drink at the pre-pre party this year over this?

I remember you saying a while back that this PP would be a HELL of a show and you doubted you could keep a lid on it yourself. I didn't know you were a prophet as well as a promoter.

Either way you rock and book incredible bands.. so while you're laughing, laugh because also you know this is THE BEST FEST in the USA... after all you can't help it people wanna brag theyre playing your gig.

Yeah, as ProgPower's good reputation grows -- and the larger the bands that Glenn can book for it -- it surely gets harder and harder to keep a lid on things.

Glenn, do you put any sort of nondisclosure clause in your contracts generally, or is it more of a gentlemen's agreement with the bands' managements?

Have you guys noticed on how all the information that was leaked came from the Brave Words webpage/forum? That's possibly on purpose, given they're jealous that ProgPower is a much better festival than BwBk's in the USA, also that thier line up this year is very disappointing... lol

Me and my conspiracy theories ideas.... Lol

I wouldn't be surprised if this were to come out true. I've never had an interest to go to their festival, just ProgPower.

Uhh, Therion isn't the Oddball band??

This depends on what they play. ;) If they stick with their new stuff, I wouldn't say they're an oddball band, however, if they play a lot of their old stuff (highly unlikely), then I'd say so.

I think Therion is being considered a progressive metal band for this show though they are much more than just that. I think you will still have your odd ball.

I've noticed that a lot of people seem to either love Strato or hate them. Kinda like POS, only the feelings one way or the other aren't QUITE as strong.

Seems that some people think of Stratovarius the way they think of N'Sync.:)

They are the band that got me into power metal in the first place and I'd love to see them.

Yeah, I'd love to see Stratovarius live. I'd need to buy another few albums, as I only have 'Infinite' and 'Elements Pt. 1.' But I love them. Especially the epic songs on Elements Pt. 1. I guess if they're at prog power....I'd get their forthcoming album and maybe one of their older ones.

And Timo Tolkki is a really awesome neoclassical guitarist. I'd love to see some of his few and far between shred anthems live.
