STRYPER

me and my wife had our honeymoon at Cstone 2001 to see thier reunoin. One of the best live bands ever! Oz singing the Way was the best. Against the Law is my fave disc.

Big fan here! Got to see them on at Cornerstone Festival in 2001, that was a real treat! I had all four original members sign my mint-condition "To Hell With the Devil" vinyl with the original artwork; the gem of my vinyl collection. My favorite song of their's would have to be the title track from that disc or "Loud and Clear!"

I also like a lot of Michael's solo material. In fact, his s/t album was the very first disc in my mountain of Christian rock, metal, and industrial music. "Real" is my favorite accomplishment of his solo career; that title track, imo, is profound.

Glad to see other fans here too! I've always thought it would be fun to dress as the band for Halloween, but can you believe I can't find 3 other people that want to wear yellow & black spandex? :p

Great band! Saw them at the Paramount in Seattle in 1986. And got into an argument with some folks from a Christian group who were picketing the concert -- a couple of whom belonged to the church I was attending at the time.

Right in our neck of the woods:

80s rock legends Twisted Sister will headline a concert benefiting the Station Family Fund on Monday, Feb. 25, at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center, in Providence. Also on the bill will be Tom Scholz, former guitarist of the multi-platinum rock group Boston; Aaron Lewis, the frontman of Staind; and metal bands Tesla and Stryper. Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider will host the show, and the bill will also include Carmine Appice’s SLAMM, Eric Martin, Gary Hoey and former Chicago drummer Danny Seraphine.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow and range from $41 to $61. They can be had at www.ticketmaster.com. The show is being organized by the Station Family Fund, a nonprofit organization founded by survivors of the Station fire committed to providing survivor relief, including costs of ongoing treatment and rehabilitation; and by The Wake Up to Love Foundation, a nonprofit set up by Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta. All proceeds will go to the Station Family Fund.

For anyone interested in attending thats in the New England area, ticket sales are doing alot worse for this than anyone expected and as of Thursday they had only sold 2,800 tickets. Whether you like any of the bands on the Metal/Country hybrid bill or not - it's for a good cause and hey, Stryper and Twisted Sister :kickass:

So, let's all go and have a good time, eh?

I heard Soldiers Under Command and was hooked. I have seen them about 3 times and have caught about 3 bibles..haha
I still have them somewhere. Their albums are classics.

Agreed. I respect their music as far as sound but....the over the top Christian lyrics, album covers and stuff kinda scared me. LOL :goggly:
Relax. They're a great band. I think too much "fear" is placed on the Christian aspect of this band. Listen and enjoy if you like it; don't if you can't. I listen to lots of bands whose lyrics and "shtick" don't conform to my individual beliefs, uh... like Finntroll? LOL, I don't know wtf they're going for, but I like their music. Be broad minded and enjoy every aspect. That's what makes metal so exceptional - the chance to hear great music experessing all forms of beliefs and ideas. You don't have to necessarily adhere to the message to enjoy the music.

Love Stryper!!

I've seen them with the original lineup back in the 80's with Hurricane, @ C-stone in 01 and a couple years ago when they were on the reunion tour.

Still a great band live! Can't wait to see them again!

SL has been known to do a Styrper cover or two when we played C-stone. :)

Hell yeah! What covers did you play? I hope Stryper plays "Piece Of Mind" by Boston on their upcoming tour. Oh yeah, BTW, Oz Fox is also a member of Christian metallers BLOODGOOD, as well.

We've done a few over the years - but most recently we've done All for One, on occasion. :)

With dual guitars and a great singer - it's hard not to bust into a classic rocker! :)
